This is a newly created role offering a unique opportunity to join BMO Canadian Commercial Bank and help develop a new platform focused on strategic capital & risk solutions across mid-market credit.

Following required training, the successful candidate will:

  • Become a specialist in available capital solutions, product knowledge, and processes.
  • Act as a subject matter expert and trusted advisor for the strategic capital platform.
  • Serve as an advisory resource to deal teams.
  • Provide credit hedging expertise regarding strategic capital tools.
  • Build effective relationships with internal stakeholders.
  • Oversee ongoing monitoring of trackers.
  • Influence stakeholders to achieve business objectives.
  • Track deal inquiries, maintain status, and follow up with deal teams.
  • Gather and analyze data.
  • Review and comment on loan documentation related to strategic capital options.
  • Navigate ambiguity and complex situations.
  • Develop internal educational materials for Canadian bankers.
  • Create reporting tools and dashboards for management and deal/product level analysis.
  • Assist bankers with return/cost analysis at transactional levels.
  • Coordinate with US platform and stakeholders for alignment and market knowledge.
  • Develop competitive landscape knowledge and best market practices.
  • Create templates for standardization across the platform.
  • Possess credit risk and structuring knowledge.
  • Be excited about innovation and building a new platform within a large organization.
  • Work independently, managing multiple priorities.
  • Develop expertise in credit products, processes, and systems.
  • Participate in developing financial models and analytical tools.
  • Stay current on financing trends and strategic capital markets.
  • Oversee credit correspondence for strategic capital and serve as a resource for credit risk teams.
  • Learn internal credit policies quickly.
  • Work nationally with an enterprise-wide focus.
  • Exercise judgment and make recommendations.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as needed.

Qualifications:

  • 3-6 years of relevant experience and a post-secondary degree or equivalent.
  • Deep knowledge and technical proficiency through education and experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong collaboration and teamwork skills.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective influence skills.
  • In-depth credit structuring and risk skills.
  • Data-driven decision-making ability.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity.

Salary: $68,000 - $126,000

Pay Type: Salaried
