Associate Director, Commercial Mortgages

The Role

This position is responsible for driving the profitability of MCAP’s commercial lending programs by supporting the Origination team under the guidance of the Vice President of Origination, working closely with the Director and Senior Director of Origination.

The incumbent will work within the Origination team to generate commercial mortgage opportunities, assess and review new business prospects, and develop relationships with borrowers, brokers, and market participants to facilitate placements with MCAP investors. They will also manage loan applications through various stages, support client interactions, and participate in industry events.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and maintain client relationships, support new business transactions, and ensure smooth underwriting and funding processes.
• Assess new lending opportunities, recommend applications for approval, and manage transactions through approval to funding stages.
• Support the development of the investor marketing strategy, provide market intelligence, and maintain relationships with key stakeholders like CMHC and mortgage brokers.
• Oversee loan progress, ensure data accuracy in Salesforce, and assist in managing existing loans and client files.

What You Bring To The Team

• 3 to 10 years of business development experience in commercial mortgages.
• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
• Strong negotiation, communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
• Knowledge of CMHC policies and the multi-family marketplace.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Business preferred; Agent License required.
