About The Role
The Associate Director role will be responsible for executing a wide variety of media-focused analysis activities in support of optimizing media performance across audiences, placements and campaigns. In this role, the Associate Director will also have exposure to a wide variety of data analysis and Business Intelligence tools such as Power BI, media databases, Adobe Real-Time CDP (RTCDP), and others, and will be expected to apply these tools when opportunities arise. The Associate Director will be expected to lead a team of analysts, assess the media performance across channels and campaigns, recommend evolutions for the current audience segmentation and media targeting approaches, and identify the right media mix going forward.
Responsibilities
- Lead and build capability of a team of analysts who work with media data across multiple channels, assembling holistic views of performance and effectiveness in relation to business objectives
- Develop and improve measurement frameworks to standardize the evaluation of marketing effectiveness and strategies; Identify, adopt, and develop leading practices for media analysis, reporting, and strategy
- Collaborate with our data team to build transparency and traceability in data provisioning, identify and implement solutions to reduce reporting delays, and proactively identify early warning measures for execution or performance issues
- Develop a systematic reporting and analysis approach, enabling automated reporting where appropriate, dashboards scoped to relevant reporting, and application of appropriate statistical models for in depth analysis when required; Orchestrate your team to enable and enhance your data analysis and reporting platforms
- Develop thought leadership on media analysis, reporting, and interpretation
- Recommend methodologies to advance the organization’s thinking around media mix, media metrics, attribution of the right credit to each touchpoint, and analyze performance at the audience or even the individual level
- Lead conversations related to ongoing initiatives where you embody our team’s “we’ll figure it out” mindset
- Serve a multitude of functions including but not limited to: investigation of new product features, identifying new opportunities (in technology), creating internal processes for removing obstacles within the team
Education And Experience
- 7+ years of experience in digital media analysis, data systems analysis, or related roles
- Demonstrated experience applying statistical analysis to datasets, visualizing results, and communicating the correct interpretation
- Strong knowledge of traditional and digital media KPIs (e.g., CPAs (Cost Per Action), Impressions, GRPs, CPC, CPM, CTR, Viewability)
- Subject Matter Expert in at least one area of Media Advertising
- Demonstrated analytical research capabilities with a high attention to detail and a continuous learning mindset
- Experience implementing, leading the adoption of, and using Media Mix Models to simulate and/or optimize campaigns is an asset
- Experience with how to set-up segmentation and other data models to effectively support multiple marketing use cases
- Highly accountable self-starter with the ability to work well within a group, as well as independently
- Excellent leadership, communication, and collaboration skills
- Must demonstrate deep analytical and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies and evolve as business requirements change
- Subject Matter Expert in at least one BI dashboard (e.g., PowerBI); preferred to also have data analysis framework knowledge (e.g, Python/Pandas, R/tidyverse)
- Demonstrated expertise in building suites of reporting or dashboards, including the definition of scope, objectives, and evaluation of effectiveness
- Expertise in SQL is an asset
- Demonstrated expertise with Excel
