Job summary

Mattamy Asset Management in Toronto, Ontario is recruiting for the Associate, CPA Leadership Development Program. You will complete 30 months of rotations across Financial Reporting, Internal Audit and FP&A while pursuing your CPA designation.

Based in our downtown Toronto office with a hybrid schedule (4 days in office), you will support finance initiatives, gain exposure to divisional and corporate finance teams, and develop your leadership and technical accounting skills through personalized

• GPA 3.0 minimum; transcripts required.
• Must be pursuing CPA designation and plan to write the CFE.
• Pre-requisite CPA courses completed by start date.

• Team-oriented with proactive leadership and creative problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Support Financial Analyst responsibilities within CPAL rotations.
• Participate in driving finance initiatives with Divisional and Corporate Finance teams.
• Engage in two 15-month rotations across two of: Financial Reporting, Internal Audit, FP&A.
• Develop leadership, technical accounting and process improvement skills.

What we offer

Mattamy’s CPA Leadership Development Program (CPAL) offers the unique opportunity to accelerate your career development, business knowledge and leadership skills through 30 months of rigorous placement within our finance teams while simultaneously working towards attaining your Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) Designation.

What you’ll do

Based out of our downtown Toronto office, associates in the Mattamy CPAL program will have Financial Analyst responsibilities. Additionally, they will be expected to support and participate in driving finance initiatives, with exposure to Divisional and Corporate Finance teams, functions and roles.

The 30-month CPA Development Program is structured as two, 15-month rotations in 2 out of 3 of the following roles:

• Financial Reporting
• Internal Audit
• Financial Planning & Analysis

You will hone your leadership skills and technical knowledge to help drive incremental value and change by:

• Gaining technical aptitude in consolidation, legal entity accounting, month-end reporting, risk management, and operational audit.
• Collaborating on cross-functional teams in order to design, develop and implement various projects
• Developing and demonstrating your competence on complex cross-functional projects that stretch beyond most new college graduate positions
• Developing business knowledge and insight into process improvement initiatives

As a CPAL Associate you will have an individualized development plan, receive regular coaching, mentoring and feedback and will provide day-to-day business support within your placements. This program’s intention is to prepare our future generation of business leaders within finance and accounting.

Mattamy is an accredited employer with CPA Ontario, and this program is accredited to meet the practical work experience requirements for achieving your CPA designation. All applicants to the program are required to be in pursuit of their CPA designation and plan to write (or have written) the CFE, which Mattamy is pleased to offer time and cost support towards.

What you bring

• Bachelor’s Degree (expected graduation by June 2027) in Business or Accounting required.
• Proven academic success (3.0 GPA minimum); transcripts required
• Must be in pursuit of their CPA designation and plan to write (or have written) the CFE.
• Must have completed pre-requisite courses for CPA PEP registration by program start date.
• Demonstrated leadership experience.
• The desire to work in a team environment and take a proactive leadership role.
• The drive to actively contribute to both personal and company-wide goals through creative and innovative thinking.
• Proven strength in analysis and creative problem solving, communication, interpersonal relationships, self-motivation, and leadership.

Compensation

The expected base salary range for this position is $57,500 - $87,500. Actual pay may vary depending on your job-related knowledge, competencies, and skills. We recognize that exceptional situations may fall outside this range, and we encourage all interested candidates to apply.

You are also eligible to participate in Mattamy’s annual bonus program which gives you the opportunity to increase your total compensation if business and individual goals are achieved.
