Job summary

Shinhan Bank Canada seeks an Associate in Business Relationship Management to help grow the bank's market presence and client base. The role focuses on leveraging mortgage expertise, understanding client needs, and supporting portfolio management with loan sales materials.

You will work closely with Relationship Managers to identify opportunities, prepare materials, and maintain strong client service standards in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required; 3–5 years of relevant work experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of banking products, services and regulatory environment.
  • Ability to assess client needs and offer quality recommendations.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills; proficient in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing and implementing loan and banking solutions for client portfolios.
  • Support business development efforts to expand client base and revenue.
  • Provide insights on market dynamics, competitors and differentiators.
  • Prepare marketing materials and relationship-management collateral for internal teams.
  • Coordinate with Mortgage partners and third-party vendors during onboarding and servicing.

The Associate, Business Relationship Management helps advance our Bank’s market position and financial growth, by advancing Shinhan’s presence in the community by leveraging their mortgage expertise and having a strong understanding of the market and potential client base. The Associate support Business Relationship Manager by providing loan sales materials and portfolio management.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities

  • Assist in the research, development and implementation of new loan products and service.
  • Understand and provide insight to business development efforts to build client portfolio and turn this into increased business.
  • Using knowledge of the market and competitors, identify and develop the bank’s unique selling propositions and differentiators.
  • Support administrative task by developing and implementing marketing strategies and materials for Relationship Managers.
  • Present ideas for business development training and mentoring to business developers and other internal staff.
  • Report the external meetings held/future meetings scheduled by Relationship Managers.
  • Handle customer complaints and concerns in professional manners.
  • Retain the existing portfolio and constantly follow up on the status of commercial loan application.
  • Understand the bank’s goal and purpose so that will continual to enhance the bank’s performance.
  • Contact Mortgage partners periodically with rates sheet updates and residential mortgage training if necessary.
  • Support BRM’s New broker and Other 3rd party business partners (appraisers etc) on boarding.
  • Support client SOL mobile application on boarding.
  • Support to prepare the Commercial Mortgage loan Application less than CAD1M.

Job Requirements

Education Requirements: Bachelor's Degree

Work Experience Requirements: 3-5 years

  • Knowledge in banking solutions and banking operations
  • Skilled in assessing new and existing customer’s needs, providing quality advice and recommendations
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to build quality, long-term relationships with clients
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Advanced word processing and computer skills (Word, Excel, Power Point etc.)
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Demonstrated skills to effectively organize and prioritize high volume of work
  • Strong teamwork orientation
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
  • Marketing & Residential Mortgage sales experience can be an asset
  • Knowledge of Chinese or Korean is an asset.
