Job summary

Purves Redmond Limited, Vancouver, is seeking an Associate Broker for Commercial Risk Solutions to manage day-to-day servicing of SME and mid-market commercial accounts, including renewals, marketing, placement, and documentation.

You will independently handle assigned accounts, coordinate with underwriters and internal teams, and ensure accurate client records and timely follow-up, leveraging 8+ years of commercial insurance experience.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in commercial insurance, preferably within a brokerage.
• Experience supporting mid-market or large commercial accounts across multiple industries.
• RIBO license and related insurance credentials are required; CAIB/CIP/CRM are assets.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, with a collaborative, client-focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Manage renewal documents, proposals, certificates, binders and other client deliverables.
• Support onboarding and renewal processes by gathering underwriting information and updating systems.
• Maintain accurate client records and policy documentation.
• Coordinate with Claims, Accounting and Compliance to ensure seamless service.
• Lead placement and negotiation of coverage for assigned accounts and assist senior brokers.
• Prepare marketing submissions and compile quote comparisons for insurers.
• Track carrier responses and develop recommendation reports.
• Review policy documentation, endorsements and invoicing with accuracy.
• Monitor key dates and service deliverables for timely follow-up.

Position Overview

The Associate Broker, Commercial Risk Solutions, is responsible for the day-to-day management and servicing of commercial insurance accounts across a diverse range of industries. The Associate Broker will independently manage assigned SME and mid-market accounts, including renewals, marketing, placement, policy documentation and ongoing client service.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Manage preparation of renewal documents, proposals, summaries of insurance, certificates, binders and other client deliverables
• Support client onboarding and renewal processes by gathering underwriting information, preparing applications and updating internal systems
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records and policy documentation
• Coordinate with internal teams (e.g. Claims, Accounting, Compliance) to ensure seamless client service and issue resolution
• Prepare marketing submissions for insurers and assist with the placement process under the direction of a senior broker
• Lead the placement and negotiation of coverage for assigned accounts, while collaborating with Client Executives on larger or more complex placements
• Track carrier responses, compile quote comparisons, and support the development of recommendation reports
• Participate in insurer meetings and internal strategy discussions as needed
• Review and process policy documentation, endorsements and invoicing with a high degree of accuracy
• Prepare and review benchmarking, loss summary and other client-facing reports
• Track and monitor key dates and service deliverables to ensure timely follow-up and execution

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in commercial insurance, preferably within a brokerage environment
• Experience supporting mid-market or large commercial accounts across multiple industries
• RIBO license
• CAIB, CIP or CRM designations are assets
• Working knowledge of property and casualty insurance products, coverage structures, policy documentation, and placement process
• Experience negotiating with insurers and working directly with underwriters and other insurance partnersProficient with Microsoft Office tools
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Collaborative team player with a proactive, service-oriented mindset

Compensation

Purves Redmond Limited is committed to fair and transparent compensation practices. The base salary range for this role is $85,000–$110,000. This range reflects the expected hiring range for the position and may vary based on factors such as experience, skills, qualifications, and overall fit. Additional compensation, where applicable, may include performance-based incentives, commissions, or bonuses.
