Job summary

Confidential Employer, a national plaintiff-side litigation team, seeks an experienced litigator for complex environmental matters in California. You will lead mass tort and environmental cases from start to resolution, collaborating with trial attorneys in a high-caliber, results-driven firm.

The role demands strong research, writing, and advocacy skills, with exposure to depositions, hearings, and trial preparation.

Qualifications

• Active California Bar license in good standing.
• 2+ years of litigation experience.
• Experience with air/water contamination, environmental litigation, toxic torts, or related complex cases.
• Strong research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of mass tort and environmental litigation from inception through resolution.
• Conduct legal research and factual investigations involving environmental exposure and liability.
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, briefs, and memoranda.
• Participate in depositions, hearings, mediations, settlement negotiations, and trial preparation.
• Collaborate with attorneys, experts, and litigation support teams to develop case strategy.
• Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, experts, and co-counsel.
• Analyze complex factual and legal issues and develop innovative litigation strategies.
• Maintain deadlines and prioritize multiple active matters.

Location: Westwood, CA – Primarily on-site in a collaborative office environment. Exceptional candidates may be considered for flexible arrangements based on experience and location.

Note: Candidates must be licensed and in good standing with the California Bar and have at least 2+ years of litigation experience involving air and/or water contamination, fire cases, environmental litigation, toxic torts, or other complex civil litigation.
