About this job :

The position reports to the North America P&C SVP, Chief Agent and Head of Canada.

The successful candidate will assess, analyze, and assist with underwriting P&C treaty business across various products and cedants in Canada, working closely with Canadian underwriting, actuarial, audit, claims, and operations teams, and engaging with international underwriters regarding Canadian exposure regulations.

About the role :

• Assist with underwriting and decision-making of P&C treaty business under guidance from underwriters, analyzing submission data and bordereaux.
• Evaluate and improve underwriting analysis tools and templates.
• Develop understanding of P&C products and treaty structures.
• Research and compile marketing and client information, maintaining Salesforce data.
• Correspond with clients and brokers under the guidance of underwriters.
• Attend broker and client meetings, assist with underwriting audits, and travel as needed.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including actuarial, claims, and reinsurance accounting.
• Review treaty contracts and liaise with contract specialists.
• Support risk and exposure monitoring, reporting, and planning activities.
• Analyze market trends, legislative news, and data relevant to Canadian business.
• Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and regulations.
• Handle administrative tasks and prepare presentations.

Qualifications :

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent.
• Strong analytical skills and risk assessment capabilities.
• Excellent English communication skills; bilingual French is an asset.
• Interpersonal skills with some reinsurance knowledge.
• Interest in underwriting, proactive, motivated, and able to work independently.
• Good organizational and multitasking skills.
• Reliable, collaborative, and adaptable team player.
