Responsibilities

Position Summary:

The position plays a critical role in the successful execution of the Technology unit’s strategic plan. You will be responsible for managing a significant portion of the unit’s portfolio, ensuring continued profitability and growth. Focusing on underwriting Technology companies, you will obtain a deep understanding of a very dynamic segment of the economy.

What will your typical day look like?

• Manage a portfolio of Technology P&C and E&O/Cyber business
• Provide superior customer service to broker partners and develop meaningful long term relationships
• Underwrite individual risks to department guidelines for risk selection, policy construction and pricing
• Grow the renewal portfolio by balancing retention, rate, capacity expansion and cross sale
• Identify, investigate, and develop cross sale opportunities
• Adhere to your letter of authority and escalate any items outside of it
• Negotiate deals with broker partners independently and seek support where required
• Stay informed and up-to-date on any changes, trends, and industry developments that may impact the Technology practice, including attending industry events
• Embody and promote Berkley Canada’s collaborative and innovative culture to ensure professional success individually and for the team
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Requirements:

• Bachelors degree or equivalent experience
• In-depth understanding of P&C and/or Tech E&O/Cyber an asset
• Underwriting or broking experience an asset
• Bilingual (English and French) an asset
• CIP / CRM or equivalent designation an asset
