Job summary

Crofton House School in Vancouver is seeking a collaborative and highly organized Test Room Assistant to join the Learning Resources Team on site at Kerrisdale campus. This full-time, fixed-term role supports a quiet, structured assessment environment and coordinates with classroom teachers and the Coordinator of Learning Strategies to implement accommodations.

Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively as part of the Learning Resources Team.
  • Review and precisely execute individualized student accommodation plans (IEPs/SSPs), including extended time, read-aloud services, scribing, and specialized adaptive tools.
  • Maintain a quiet, structured, and low-distraction assessment space tailored to diverse sensory and physical needs.
  • Provide encouraging, calm, and permissible assistance during assessments, helping manage student concerns and facilitating scheduled breaks.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot hardware and software tools for students using text-to-speech and typing exams on digital devices.
  • Supervise assessment sessions continuously to uphold academic integrity and ensure a secure assessment environment.
  • Organize, secure, and manage all assessment materials before, during, and after classes in strong collaboration with classroom teachers.
  • Accurately track testing times, accommodations provided, and student attendance; document and elevate any testing anomalies or accommodations concerns to the Coordinator of Learning Strategies.
  • Complete required training on school attendance software and protocols, and provide temporary coverage or support for the main attendance desk as required by the school.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development as identified in consultation with the Coordinator, Learning Strategies.

We are seeking a collaborative and highly organized Test Room Assistant to join our Learning Resources Team on site at our Kerrisdale campus. In this full time role, you will be instrumental in creating a quiet, structured, and supportive assessment environment tailored to the diverse sensory and physical needs of our students. Working closely with classroom teachers and the Coordinator of Learning Strategies, you will execute individualized accommodation plans, providing extended time, adaptive tech support, and calm encouragement while upholding academic integrity. The ideal candidate combines patience, flexibility, and strong communication skills with a deep awareness of young women's learning styles and a commitment to maintaining a safe, structured school routine.

Hours of work: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM daily

Compensation: Annual salary $50,000 - $52,000
