Job summary

Dollarama in Fergus, Ontario is seeking an Assistant Team Leader to support daily retail operations, supervise staff, and ensure excellent customer service. You will help manage shipments, stock shelves, and uphold safety and cleanliness standards.

The role requires about 1 year in retail with supervisory experience, flexible hours, and strong communication and leadership abilities to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Approximately one year of relevant retail experience.
• At least one year in a supervisory role.
• Flexible availability including day, evening and weekend shifts.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Demonstrated leadership, organizational and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist the management team in store operations and staff.
• Boxing and unboxing daily shipments.
• Stock daily products on shelves.
• Reach all areas of the store (ladder use as needed).
• Provide excellent customer service and resolve issues.
• Maintain store safety and cleanliness standards.
• Perform cash management and opening/closing duties.
• Follow up on assigned tasks.
• Conduct manager-on-duty tasks including breaks, time and attendance, hiring and performance management.

Job description

The Assistant Team Leader provides support to the management team in executing and overseeing daily retail store operations, ensuring excellent customer service, and maintaining a well-organized and efficient store environment.

Daily Tasks (but not limited to)

• Assisting the management team in managing store operations and staff.
• Boxing and unboxing daily shipments.
• Stocking daily products on shelves.
• Climbing ladders to reach all areas of the store.
• Providing good customer service and resolving customer issues.
• Ensuring store safety and cleanliness standards are maintained.
• Performing cash management, store opening and closing duties as needed.
• Following up on assigned tasks.
• Conducting manager-on-duty tasks: making sure daily breaks, time and attendance are properly tracked and participating in the hiring and performance management process.

What Do You Need to Succeed?

• Approximately one (1) year of relevant experience in the retail industry.
• At least one (1) year in a supervisory role.
• Flexible availability (day, evening, weekend).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Demonstrated leadership, organizational, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
• Customer service-oriented.
