Job summary

Dollarama in Trois-Rivières is seeking an Assistant Team Leader to support the store management team in daily operations and to deliver excellent customer service. This role requires leadership, reliable multitasking, and the ability to supervise staff, manage shifts, and assist with opening/closing duties in a fast-paced retail environment.

Flexible availability, strong communication, and a customer-service mindset are essential to help maintain safety, cleanliness, and efficient stock

Qualifications

• Approximately one year of relevant experience in retail is required.
• At least one year in a supervisory role is required.
• Flexible availability including days, evenings and weekends.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities are essential.
• Demonstrated leadership, organizational and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist the management team in store operations and staff oversight.
• Box and unbox daily shipments and stock products on shelves.
• Provide good customer service and resolve issues.
• Maintain store safety and cleanliness standards.
• Perform cash management and opening/closing duties as needed.
• Handle manager-on-duty tasks: track breaks, time and attendance, and support hiring and performance processes.
• Follow up on assigned tasks and participate in overall store management.

Job description

The Assistant Team Leader provides support to the management team in executing and overseeing daily retail store operations, ensuring excellent customer service, and maintaining a well-organized and efficient store environment.

Daily Tasks (but not limited to)

• Assisting the management team in managing store operations and staff.
• Boxing and unboxing daily shipments.
• Stocking daily products on shelves.
• Climbing ladders to reach all areas of the store.
• Providing good customer service and resolving customer issues.
• Ensuring store safety and cleanliness standards are maintained.
• Performing cash management, store opening and closing duties as needed.
• Following up on assigned tasks.
• Conducting manager-on-duty tasks: making sure daily breaks, time and attendance are properly tracked and participating in the hiring and performance management process.

What Do You Need to Succeed?

• Approximately one (1) year of relevant experience in the retail industry.
• At least one (1) year in a supervisory role.
• Flexible availability (day, evening, weekend).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Demonstrated leadership, organizational, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
• Customer service-oriented.
