Job summary

Dollarama in Calgary, Alberta is seeking an Assistant Team Leader to support the store management in daily operations, drive customer service, and maintain an organized, efficient retail environment.

You will assist with supervising staff, manage daily operations, handle shipments, stock shelves, and contribute to hiring and performance processes while ensuring a safe, high-quality shopping experience.

Qualifications

• Approximately one year of relevant experience in the retail industry.
• At least one year in a supervisory role.
• Flexible availability including day, evening, and weekend.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Demonstrated leadership, organizational and teamwork skills.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize and work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
• Customer service-oriented.

Responsibilities

• Assist the management team in store operations and staff oversight.
• Box and unbox daily shipments.
• Stock products on shelves.

• Perform cash management and opening/closing duties.
• Lead manager-on-duty tasks including attendance and scheduling.

Job description

The Assistant Team Leader provides support to the management team in executing and overseeing daily retail store operations, ensuring excellent customer service, and maintaining a well-organized and efficient store environment.

Daily Tasks (but not limited to)

• Assisting the management team in managing store operations and staff.
• Boxing and unboxing daily shipments.
• Stocking daily products on shelves.
• Climbing ladders to reach all areas of the store.
• Providing good customer service and resolving customer issues.
• Ensuring store safety and cleanliness standards are maintained.
• Performing cash management, store opening and closing duties as needed.
• Following up on assigned tasks.
• Conducting manager-on-duty tasks: making sure daily breaks, time and attendance are properly tracked and participating in the hiring and performance management process.

What Do You Need to Succeed?

• Approximately one (1) year of relevant experience in the retail industry.
• At least one (1) year in a supervisory role.
• Flexible availability (day, evening, weekend).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
