Position Objectives: The objective of the Team Lead role is to support the mission, vision, values, and pillars of Cannabis NB by providing leadership and management to the retail team and supporting the Retail Store Manager in delivering retail processes to achieve operational objectives.

Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities: In support of strategic pillars and in partnership with the Retail Store Manager, the responsibilities of a Cannabis NB Team Lead include, but are not limited to:

Operational Excellence
  • Monitor labour costs, dashboard, and KPIs.
  • Ensure adherence to loss prevention policies to support store shrink goals.
  • Lead and support CERs in executing store processes to optimize operations, including planograms, merchandising, stock rotation (FIFO), inventory control, defective product recalls, and product replenishment.
  • Report, document, investigate, and address near misses, customer injuries, or workplace accidents promptly.
  • Ensure operational processes are executed effectively by the team.
  • Manage and approve time and attendance in timekeeping software.
  • Provide attendance support and ensure monthly inspections are completed.
  • Promote safety practices using safety leadership best practices.
Corporate Citizenship
  • Immediately report and address lapses in compliance with corporate policies, and provincial or federal laws.
  • Engage with the team to ensure understanding of mission, vision, and goals.
  • Foster a culture of quality, safety, and curated service.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and pending legislation impacting the business.
  • Ensure adherence to in-store social responsibility processes and practices, evaluating their effectiveness.
  • Represent the company professionally and positively, building relationships within the community.
Customer Engagement & Experience
  • Lead and support the retail team in executing customer engagement processes.
  • Maintain a neat, clean, and organized store environment.
  • Ensure team provides world-class (G.U.I.D.E.) customer service.
  • Utilize aroma pods to enhance customer experience and coach team members accordingly.
  • Manage customer traffic flow and execute sales and returns per operational policies.
  • Align customer experience with brand standards, safety, and education mandates.
Performance Culture
  • Foster team engagement by clarifying responsibilities, providing resources, recognizing success, and supporting team development.
  • Ensure regular feedback, professional development, and performance reviews.
  • Handle behavioral issues, terminations, and conduct performance evaluations.
  • Develop and maintain a diverse, high-performing team through selection, development, and motivation.
  • Participate in training and take on new challenges to support company growth.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to solve problems effectively.
