Overview

SUMMARY The Assistant Manager is a position responsible for supporting the Store Manager in achieving all Company goals and initiatives through driving sales, developing talent, and delivering execution. It is critical that an Assistant Store Manager represents the brand, operates in a professional manner, demonstrates exceptional customer service, and drives a consistent message to all team members.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

  1. At least 2 years of manager experience in a specialty retail store with relevant traffic and volume preferred.
  2. Proficiency in Word, Excel, & PowerPoint, and ability to adapt to additional software programs.
  3. Has broad knowledge and perspective of retail landscape.
  4. Must be available to work weekends (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday).
  5. Must commit to two store closings per week, including one being Friday or Saturday.
  6. Ability to utilize retail POS System & Inventory Scanner.
  7. Must be able to make change using American Monetary units.
  8. Ability to understand and interpret moderately complex financial reports.
  9. High School Diploma required or General Education Degree (GED).
  10. Ability to carry out detailed tasks and projects with minimal direction or supervision.
  11. This position requires the ability to problem solve complex situations in an effective and efficient manner including dealing with difficult and/or troubled clients.
  12. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  13. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build positive working relationships.
  14. Ability to express ideas clearly and succinctly via email, memos, and reports.
WORK ENVIRONMENT

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  1. Requires ability to lift large and heavy packages and boxes rapidly and constantly and to perform a continuous process of loading and unloading large boxes throughout a scheduled shift.
  2. Able to reach overhead, bend, kneel, and carry product, necessary for customer service, inventory re-stock, processing shipment and store merchandising.
  3. The ability to stand/walk for extended periods of time.
  4. Must have ability to safely lift 50 lbs. without restrictions.
  5. Able to regularly perform store maintenance items: sweep, vacuum, empty trash, clean.
  6. Ability to use and climb ladders and/or step stools.
  7. Requires ability to perform repetitive motions (i.e. hanging, folding, ringing up customers, etc.).
  8. The ability to use caution when dealing with difficult customers, houseless and/or transients and avoid confrontations.
  9. Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
  10. Adult content environment.
  11. Must be at least 18 years old.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Serves as the Manager on Duty, performing responsibilities of the Store Manager when the Store Manager is away from the store.
  2. Exhibits the interest and the ability to become a Store Manager.
  3. Works alongside employees at all levels, driving and maintaining high standards by serving as a positive role model to ensure the integrity of the brand.
  4. Assists and coaches in training Sales Associates while on the sales floor and monitors compliance for all company standard operating procedures and cultivates an environment of open communication and teamwork.
  5. Manages rest and meal break schedules and ensures that all zones are covered.
  6. Fosters a positive work environment and provides direct, honest feedback in a timely manner.
  7. Assists the Store Manager with managing company standards of merchandise presentations, signage and displays.
  8. Escalates performance concerns to the Store Manager.
  9. Motivates and inspires the associates to build brand loyalty and create a positive store environment for both internal and external customers.
  10. Assists with store security including checking bags and monitoring fitting rooms.
  11. Guarantees company assets by ensuring adherence to all Loss Prevention procedures.
  12. Ensures that store staff are treated professionally, courteously and respectfully.
  13. Assists in directing the planning and execution of floor sets in an efficient manner while following Company guidelines and encouraging collaboration of ideas amongst team members.
  14. Adheres to and ensures compliance with all LP policies.
  15. Has full understanding/knowledge of inventory management procedures.
  16. Cultivates an environment of open communication and teamwork.
  17. Represents the company in a professional and positive manner.
  18. Inspires and motivates entire team by sharing knowledge and best practices for sales, merchandising, stocking and inventory processes.
  19. Other duties as assigned.
