Overview

Our retail Cannabis Retail Store Manager (SM) plays a vital role in delivering a distinctive shopping experience. The SM is primarily responsible for collaborating with company management to manage, maintain, and supervise day-to-day retail operations at the store location.

Responsibilities

Sales Associate Support:

  • Assist in hiring, supervising, and managing employees, ensuring all have a valid CannSell license.
  • Motivate and inspire team members to be positive, friendly, knowledgeable, and hardworking.
  • Coach team members and provide constructive feedback for professional growth.
  • Train staff on work procedures and policies to ensure high performance.
  • Maintain written SOPs and ensure team compliance with policy and regulation updates.
  • Build and manage weekly staff schedules in accordance with labor policies.
  • Be accessible and responsive to team questions, suggestions, and concerns; resolve conflicts effectively.
  • Achieve high retention and engagement scores among staff.
  • Lead by example and work collaboratively to handle high-volume store challenges.

Sales and Customer Service:

  • Handle customer feedback and resolve complaints per head office procedures.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction through effective complaint resolution.
  • Use feedback to improve customer experience.
  • Implement cannabis sales strategies in collaboration with marketing, including promotions and displays.
  • Recommend future promotions based on past success.
  • Review sales reports, identify trends, and manage inventory needs.
  • Track daily sales performance and analyze key metrics to exceed goals.
  • Use employee incentives to motivate and increase sales.
  • Meet or exceed monthly revenue, gross margin, and customer review scores.

Daily Store Operations:

  • Ensure compliance with all regulations, manage reporting and record-keeping.
  • Assist with inventory, sales, and compliance audits.
  • Perform opening and closing procedures.
  • Oversee security, cash management, and reporting procedures.
  • Develop staff schedules and foster a positive work environment.
  • Manage facility maintenance and troubleshoot issues.
  • Maintain adequate stock levels and track expiring products.
  • Coordinate inventory audits and reconcile discrepancies.
  • Ensure proper disposal of expired or damaged products.
  • Verify deliveries and maintain accurate records.
  • Communicate daily updates via email and logs.
  • Adhere to HR policies, including confidentiality.
  • Keep the work environment clean and organized.
Qualifications
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, process management, team problem-solving, and inventory control.
  • AGCO CannSell license and a clean police record.
  • 5-6+ years management experience in retail.
  • Valid Cannabis Retail Store Manager license or ability to obtain one.
  • Knowledge of cannabis plants, strains, and retail standards set by AGCO.
  • Understanding of local and state cannabis laws and regulations.
  • Achievement-oriented, organized, flexible, empathetic, and proactive.
  • Excellent leadership, management, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, at various locations.
