The Role :

We are seeking an Assistant Store Manager for our Scarborough Town Centre location. Join our growing team at JD Sports Canada, where your main responsibilities will include delivering excellent customer service, fostering team growth, and ensuring operational excellence through managerial tasks such as scheduling, inventory management, and employee performance evaluation.

Key Duties / Responsibilities :

  • Lead the team to deliver outstanding customer experiences through coaching and motivation while driving sales.
  • Maintain high customer satisfaction by possessing thorough product knowledge.
  • Train and develop a team focused on providing exceptional experiences to our community through coaching and feedback.
  • Achieve business results and meet key KPIs.
  • Ensure sales, customer experience, merchandising, visual presentation, and operational standards are met.
  • Act as a liaison between customers, sales associates, and store leadership.
  • Stay informed about product trends and share expertise to meet customer needs.
  • Maintain awareness of current and upcoming products and trends.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive work environment.
  • Support key initiatives in partnership with the Store Manager.
  • Proactively grow the business through community outreach.
  • Prioritize a culture of growth, self-awareness, and personal development.
  • Provide exceptional experiences consistently, sharing our products enthusiastically with the community.

Skills / Experience / Knowledge needed :

  • At least 2 years of retail experience.
  • Passion for streetwear and sneaker culture, with strong product knowledge.
  • Experience in supervising, training, and coaching sales staff.
  • Confident in engaging customers to deliver elevated experiences.
  • Motivated by enthusiasm for interacting with customers and athletic products.
  • Strong analytical, decision-making, and financial skills.
  • Adaptable and resourceful in a rapidly changing omni-channel retail environment.
  • High ethical standards, integrity, and trustworthiness.
  • Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Leadership qualities: inspiring, dynamic, warm, compassionate, results-driven, and celebratory of successes.
