Job summary

Ace Liquor Discounter The Grange in Edmonton is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to lead a high-performing team and support daily store operations. You’ll coach staff, manage onboarding, and help achieve sales targets while ensuring compliance with Alberta liquor regulations.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of retail experience
• 2+ years in a supervisory role
• ProServe certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and stand/walk for most of the shift
• Strong communication, reliability, and teamwork skills
• Availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays

Responsibilities

• Leadership & Team Support: Assist with supervising, coaching, and training staff; Support recruitment, onboarding, and performance management; Help promote a positive, engaged team culture
• Store Operations: Support daily store operations, including opening and closing duties; Manage store communication (email, updates, task assignments); Work closely with the Store Manager on staffing, operational needs, and sales goals
• Customer Service & Compliance: Check ID and ensure all alcohol sales meet Alberta regulations; Deliver friendly, knowledgeable customer service; Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming store environment
• Inventory & Financial Support: Assist with inventory counts, ordering, and receiving; Review reports and documentation for accuracy; Help support store financial targets and controllables

What You’ll Do
