Job summary

Ace Liquor Discounter is hiring a dependable, motivated Assistant Store Manager to support daily operations and help lead a high-performing store team.

You’ll coach staff, manage scheduling, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive sales while delivering friendly, knowledgeable customer service in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of retail experience.
• 2+ years in a supervisory role.
• ProServe certification (or willingness to obtain).
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and stand/walk for most of the shift.
• Strong communication, reliability, and teamwork skills.
• Availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Assist with supervising, coaching, and training staff.
• Support recruitment, onboarding, and performance management.
• Help promote a positive, engaged team culture.
• Support daily store operations, including opening and closing duties.
• Manage store communication (email, updates, task assignments).
• Work with Store Manager on staffing, operational needs, and sales goals.
• Check ID and ensure all alcohol sales meet Alberta regulations.
• Deliver friendly, knowledgeable customer service.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming store environment.
• Assist with inventory counts, ordering, and receiving; review reports for accuracy.
• Help support store financial targets and controllables.

What You’ll Do
