Job summary

Gear re-Store in Calgary, AB is hiring an Assistant Supervisor to support daily operations, coordinate workflow, and supervise sewing technicians. The role requires strong organization and communication with both customers and the team. You will manage work orders, assist with repairs, and help train staff in a fast-paced repair and product-care environment.

The position offers on-site work, 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. hours, and opportunities for wage growth based on performance.

Qualifications

• Fluent in English and Chinese (Cantonese/Mandarin)
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Clear, respectful communication with customers and team
• Reliable, responsible and eager to learn
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Able to communicate with customers and team in a fast-paced environment
• Basic computer skills and ability to learn work-order software
• Previous supervisory/lead-hand experience is an asset
• Knowledge of sewing or garment repair is an asset

Responsibilities

• Support the Supervisor in coordinating daily workflow and shop operations
• Enter and review work orders, assign work to sewing technicians, and manage priorities and deadlines
• Communicate with sewing technicians to resolve repair and production issues
• Monitor workflow, productivity, quality and turnaround times
• Inspect garments and completed repairs to ensure quality standards
• Respond to customer enquiries by email, phone and in person
• Prepare repair quotations and communicate repair options to customers
• Assist with shipping, receiving, inventory and materials
• Assist with garment cleaning and laundry when required
• Help train and support team members and maintain a positive, respectful and efficient work environment
• Maintain accurate records and documentation
• Assist the Supervisor with other operational and administrative tasks
