Job summary

BGO Group is seeking an Assistant Property Manager for an onsite role in Surrey, BC. You will support the Property Manager with daily operations, financial oversight, and tenant-focused activities to ensure high satisfaction and compliance with BGO standards.

The role emphasizes building inspections, rent collection, and coordination of maintenance and capital projects, with a focus on regulatory compliance and timely reporting.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of related experience.
  • General accounting knowledge.
  • Post-secondary business education preferred.
  • Professional designation or courses in property management are an asset.
  • Computer skills—MS Word, Excel, Microsoft Office, Outlook are required.

Responsibilities

  • Support day-to-day property operations, including building inspections and tenant service.
  • Maintain strong tenant relationships through responsive service and retention initiatives.
  • Monitor property revenues, expenses, budgets, invoices, and financial performance.
  • Prepare monthly owner reports, financial analyses, and variance reporting.
  • Manage rent collection, accounts receivable, tenant billings, and lease-related payments.
  • Maintain accurate tenant records, lease information, insurance certificates, and documentation.
  • Coordinate maintenance requests, operating contracts, vendors, and service delivery.
  • Support tenant and capital projects, including tendering, construction coordination, and move-ins/move-outs.
  • Ensure properties meet regulatory, maintenance, and life-safety standards.
  • Support tenant events and other property management activities.

Job description

The Assistant Property Manager provides operational, financial, and tenant-focused support to the Property Manager to ensure efficient day-to-day portfolio operations, strong tenant satisfaction, and compliance with BGO standards retail portfolio.

This is an onsite position located in Surrey, BC .

What You Will Do

Who You Are
Key Qualifications
  • 4+ years of related experience.
  • General accounting knowledge.
  • Post-secondary business related education preferred.
  • Professional designation or post-secondary or undergraduate courses in property management are an asset.
  • Computer Skills– Intermediate to advanced skills in MS Word, Excel, Microsoft office, Outlook and a natural curiosity and intuitiveness for learning new applications.

  • Police Clearance– A criminal verification check is required for employment

The Expected Base Pay Range: $70,000 – $80,000 per year. The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. BGO values the contribution of our employees and our compensation structure may vary based on the geographical location of successful candidates, as well as their experience, skills or qualifications.
