Job description

Our client is a long-established, privately held real estate owner and developer with a commercial portfolio across the GTA. They are seeking an Assistant Property Manager to support day-to-day administration and management of the portfolio, working closely with the Director, Commercial Property Manager.

This is an opportunity for a strong Property Administrator or emerging Assistant Property Manager who wants broader exposure to the owner side of commercial real estate.

Your New Employer

This is a stable, well-established real estate organization. The environment is entrepreneurial, collaborative and refreshingly hands-on, with decisions made close to the properties and senior leadership actively involved in the business.

The team is lean by design, giving employees considerably more exposure and responsibility than they may find within a larger institutional environment. People are encouraged to ask questions, take initiative and get involved wherever needed. For someone looking to build a long-term career in commercial property management, it offers an excellent platform to learn the business from the ground up.

Your Role

Reporting to the Director, Commercial Property Manager, you will help keep the day-to-day management of the commercial portfolio organized and moving forward. A significant part of your role will involve property administration, including Yardi, purchase orders, tenant correspondence, rent collection and receivables, budgeting, lease administration and coordinating documentation related to projects and tenant work.

You won't spend all of your time behind a desk. You'll regularly visit properties, conduct inspections, meet with tenants, follow up on maintenance and contractor work and step in when something needs attention. Whether that means communicating with tenants during a roofing project, checking on a repair or following up with a contractor, you'll become a trusted second set of eyes across the portfolio.

What Sets You Apart

You have commercial property administration or assistant property management experience and are ready for broader exposure. You are proactive, highly organized, and naturally follow through without needing reminders.

You are genuinely curious about how properties operate and want to develop beyond administration into a well-rounded commercial property management professional.

Why Join?

This is an opportunity to move beyond a traditional support role and gain meaningful exposure to operations, tenants, leases, accounting and the financial side of commercial real estate.

You will work closely with experienced decision-makers, contribute directly to the portfolio and have room to grow as your capabilities develop.

Compensation

Base salary of $70,000–$72,000 per year + eligible for a 5% discretionary annual bonus (not guaranteed and may vary based on individual and company performance) + benefits + + 407ETR paid, car allowance + 3 weeks' vacation.
