Assistant Project Manager
Location: GTA (Mississauga & Toronto)
Salary: $85,000 - $95,000 + Benefits

A well-established real estate development firm with a strong focus on mixed-use and residential projects across the GTA is seeking an Assistant Project Manager. With a growing portfolio of large-scale developments, this company is known for its commitment to high-quality design and efficient project execution.

About the Role

This position offers a chance to be part of a fast-paced, growing organization where you will support multiple construction projects while developing key leadership skills. The successful candidate will collaborate with internal teams, contractors, and consultants to ensure smooth project delivery from start to finish.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in managing project timelines, budgets, and deliverables from construction commencement to close-out.
  • Support procurement by reviewing scope of work packages and assisting in the tendering and subcontract award process.
  • Coordinate activities with contractors and consultants to align with project schedules.
  • Track project costs, review billing packages, and manage change orders.
  • Assist in obtaining building occupancy and overseeing the turnover process to stakeholders.
  • Attend weekly site meetings, conduct site visits, and provide on-site support as needed.
  • Identify and help resolve design issues in collaboration with consultants and site teams.
  • Support design development phases, ensuring constructability and compliance.
  • Maintain strong relationships with authorities, consultants, and industry partners.
What You Bring
  • 5+ years of experience supporting the design and construction of mixed-use developments.
  • Post-secondary education in a relevant field such as Architecture, Engineering, or Construction Management.
  • Strong technical knowledge of construction procedures, sequencing, materials, and methodologies.
  • Ability to manage priorities and assist in multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong understanding of design principles, project documentation, and contract scopes.
  • Excellent time management and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication for project reporting and stakeholder engagement.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle (or willingness to use rentals when required).
Preferred Experience
  • Experience working with respected real estate developers or construction management firms.
  • Previous roles in construction coordination, site coordination, project coordination, or assistant project management.
  • Exposure to full-cycle residential construction projects.
  • Education or training from recognized construction and design programs.
Compensation & Benefits
  • Salary: $85,000 - $95,000
  • Working Hours: 8 AM – 5 PM
  • Vacation: 3 weeks
  • Benefits: Yes, after 3-month probation
  • Travel Requirements: Some travel between project sites in the GTA (mileage/vehicle rental reimbursement provided for specific locations).
