Job summary

EBC Inc. is seeking an Assistant Project Manager for the Ontario Building Division to contribute to continued growth. Reporting to the Project Manager, you will help ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, and within contract and cost estimates.

Responsibilities include planning, budgeting, risk mitigation, subcontractor coordination, and progress billings while upholding safety and quality standards across varied environments.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of industry experience.
  • P.Eng. or CET accreditation or equivalent.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical drawings.
  • Scheduling experience and analysis skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communications.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the PM in overall planning and scheduling of projects, including monitoring and reporting.
  • Assist the PM with all project functions and operations, ensuring compliance with local requirements.
  • Ensure company policies and procedures are followed in project execution.
  • Manage and coordinate project within budgets.
  • Prepare project cost status reports (percent complete, cost to date, forecast).
  • Identify risks and develop plans to minimize impacts and mitigate risks.
  • Monitor progress and take corrective actions as needed.
  • Assist in budgets, forecasts, and contract changes; ensure changes are approved by the client.
  • Support safety and quality assurance programs and related requirements.
  • Oversee manpower, equipment, and material procurement; manage subcontractors and progress billings.

EBC is actively seeking an Assistant Project Manager for our Ontario Building Division where they can utilize their extensive knowledge to contribute to the continued success and growth of the organization.

Reporting to the Project Manager, the Assistant Project Manager is responsible for ensuring that the project is completed safely, on schedule and in compliance with the contract and job cost estimates.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the PM in the overall planning and scheduling of project including monitoring and reporting.
  • Assist the PM in all functions and operations of project including compliance with local legislative and labour requirements.
  • Ensures that Company policies and procedures are followed in all aspects of project execution.
  • Manage and coordinate project within budgets.
  • Assist the PM in preparing the project cost status reports in terms of percent complete, cost to date and cost forecast.
  • Identify project concerns and alert management of potential risks on assigned projects. Develop a plan to minimize detrimental impacts and mitigate risks.
  • Monitor the overall progress of the project on an ongoing basis and takes corrective action where necessary.
  • Assist the PM in preparing budgets, forecasts and reduce risk through managing scope and contract change.
  • Ensure that all scope and contract changes are submitted and approved by the client.
  • Responsible for implementing and monitoring of the Company's Safety Policy and Program.
  • Responsible for implementing and monitoring of the Company's Quality Assurance Program and related requirements.
  • Manpower acquisition, Equipment Management and Material procurement.
  • Assist the PM in the management of all aspects of subcontractor work execution and contracts.
  • Preparation of progress billings.
  • Assist in the collection of outstanding payments.
  • Carry out site safety inspections.
Requirements
  • Minimum 3 - 5 years of industry experience.
  • Technical background with professional accreditation (P.Eng./ CET) or combination of technical training and/or related experience.
  • Read, analyze, and interpret technical design drawings.
  • Scheduling experience and analysis skills.
  • Computer proficiency.
  • Written/oral communications.
  • Problem solving and organizational skills.

In accordance with applicable pay transparency legislation, EBC Inc. has included the expected salary range for this role, which is$60,000 - $105,000.Compensation within the range is determined based on relevant experience, qualifications, localization, and internal equity. Base salary is one component of EBC's comprehensive total rewards offering, which may include performance-based incentives, extended health and wellness benefits, retirement savings programs, and career development opportunities.
