Job summary

Pomerleau is seeking an Assistant Project Manager for its Civil & Infrastructure team. You will manage large civil, infrastructure, and marine projects from roughly $1.5 million to over $1 billion, collaborating with client groups and subcontractors as an integral project team member.

You will coordinate, review schedules, manage shop drawings and RFIs, and drive cost-effective procurement while upholding HS&E standards and strong stakeholder relationships.

Qualifications

• Roughly 5-10 years’ experience supporting large-scale civil construction projects.
• University Degree/Technology Diploma in Engineering or a combination of education and industry experience.
• Strong knowledge of construction project methodologies, financial management, building codes and associated legislation.
• A proven track record for project leadership and team collaboration.
• A passion for building and nurturing exceptional stakeholder relationships.
• Field experience - proven ability to demonstrate application of best practices on site.

Responsibilities

• Assist and guide the project team with coordination and project support.
• Review, interpret and update the construction schedules.
• Maintain, review and follow-up of shop drawings, RFIs, material purchase orders, change notice quotes and project completion documents.
• Collect, review and analyze project quotes with emphasis on obtaining the best prices in the market.
• Demonstrate leadership in Health, Safety and Environmental Protection on the project, applying safety standards and codes.
• Support in maintaining positive relationships with subtrades, clients and project stakeholders.

As an Assistant Project Manager in the Civil & Infrastructure team at Pomerleau Construction, you will manage large-scale civil, infrastructure and marine projects - ranging from $1.5 million to upwards of $1 billion - while working closely with our client groups and subcontractors and acting as an integral part of our projects team.

What you will do

• Assist and guide the project team with coordination and project support.
• Take pride in your ability to effectively review, interpret and update the construction schedules.
• Utilize your passion for organization through maintenance, review and follow-up of shop drawings, RFI’s, material purchase orders, change notice quotes and project completion documents.
• Effectively collect, review and analyze project quotes with emphasis on obtaining the very best prices in the market.
• Demonstrate leadership in Health, Safety and Environmental Protection on the project. Effectively apply the requirements of the project specific safety standards to promote Pomerleau’s HS&E standards, applicable OH&S acts, regulations and codes with all employees and trade partners on the project.
• Support in the maintenance and building of positive relationships with subtrades, clients and project stakeholders.
