Job summary

Pomerleau is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support large-scale civil, infrastructure, and marine projects ranging from $1.5 million to over $1 billion. You’ll collaborate with client groups and subcontractors as a key member of the project team, coordinating schedules, shop drawings, RFIs, and procurement while driving value and safety on site.

The role requires roughly 5–10 years in civil construction, a relevant engineering degree or diploma, and a proven track record in team

Qualifications

• University Degree/Technology Diploma in Engineering or equivalent.
• 5-10 years experience supporting large-scale civil projects.
• Strong knowledge of construction project methodologies, financial management, codes and associated legislation.
• Proven track record for project leadership and team collaboration.
• Passion for building and nurturing stakeholder relationships.
• Field experience - demonstrated application of best practices on site.

Responsibilities

• Assist and guide the project team with coordination and project support.

• Maintain shop drawings, RFIs, material purchase orders, change notices quotes and project completion documents.
• Collect, review and analyze project quotes to obtain the best prices in the market.

• Support in building positive relationships with subtrades, clients and project stakeholders.

As an Assistant Project Manager in the Civil & Infrastructure team at Pomerleau Construction, you will manage large-scale civil, infrastructure and marine projects - ranging from $1.5 million to upwards of $1 billion - while working closely with our client groups and subcontractors and acting as an integral part of our projects team.

What you will do

• Assist and guide the project team with coordination and project support.
• Take pride in your ability to effectively review, interpret and update the construction schedules.
• Utilize your passion for organization through maintenance, review and follow-up of shop drawings, RFI’s, material purchase orders, change notice quotes and project completion documents.
• Effectively collect, review and analyze project quotes with emphasis on obtaining the very best prices in the market.
• Demonstrate leadership in Health, Safety and Environmental Protection on the project. Effectively apply the requirements of the project specific safety standards to promote Pomerleau’s HS&E standards, applicable OH&S acts, regulations and codes with all employees and trade partners on the project.
• Support in the maintenance and building of positive relationships with subtrades, clients and project stakeholders.
