Assistant Professor, Tenure-track in Organic Chemistry or Organometallic Chemistry

Applications are invited from qualified individuals with research interests in organic chemistry or organometallic chemistry, for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Saskatchewan.

The successful candidate will develop a vibrant, externally funded research program in synthetic organic or organometallic chemistry and have a strong commitment to undergraduate and graduate teaching, curriculum development, and have expertise suitable to complement the current research strengths of the department. All faculty members contribute to departmental service and governance.

The Department of Chemistry is currently home to 16 faculty, 15 staff, 11 adjunct and associate faculty, and more than 70 graduate students and postdoctoral fellows working in every area of chemistry. The University of Saskatchewan is home to leading-edge research infrastructure, including the Saskatchewan Structural Sciences Centre, the Canadian Light Source national synchrotron facility, and a 24 MeV cyclotron, as well as National Research Council, Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada, and Environment and Climate Change Canada research centres.

The College of Arts and Science offers a dynamic combination of programs in the humanities, fine arts, social sciences, and natural sciences. There are over 10,000 students and 300 faculty in the College of Arts and Science. The College emphasizes student and faculty research, interdisciplinary programs, community-engaged research and knowledge mobilization, and international opportunities. Qualifications

The successful candidate will have a PhD in chemistry or a closely related discipline, postdoctoral research experience, and a strong research record as evidenced by peer-reviewed publications and/or patents, scholarships and awards. Career gaps due to leaves will not be considered detrimental to applications.

Salary bands for this position for the 2025-2026 academic year are as follows:
Assistant Professor: $110,489 to $131,900; Associate Professor: $131,909 to $153,329; and Professor: $153,329 to $178,319.
