The Department of Management Science in the Shannon School of Business at Cape Breton University invites applications for a 10-month limited-term position in Business Analytics at the rank of Assistant Professor (or Lecturer depending on qualifications). This position will commence July 1, 2025 (or as soon as possible thereafter) and end on April 30, 2026.
CBU is one of Canada’s youngest universities, located on Cape Breton Island within Mi’kma’ki, the ancestral and unceded territory of the Mi’kmaq people. The university offers diverse programs and emphasizes community, economic development, and research into environment and culture. Currently, it has approximately 5,000 students and is known for student satisfaction, faculty-student interaction, and employability.

We seek collaborative candidates with proven teaching and research in Business Analytics. Courses may include Database Concepts, Business Analytics Fundamentals, and Data Visualization. Candidates should hold a doctoral degree in Computer Science or a related field from an accredited university. Exceptional candidates pursuing their PhD may be considered for the Lecturer rank.
Our programs are delivered on campus, off-campus, and online, across Canada and internationally, with teaching in various modes and locations. A willingness to teach in different modes and locations is preferred.
The successful candidate will participate in departmental and university committees and administrative duties.
