Lecturer or Assistant Professor (sabbatical replacement appointment)

GENERAL INFO

The Department of Music at Mount Allison University invites applications for a full-time nine-month sessional appointment in Music Theory. This is a limited term sabbatical replacement appointment at the rank of Lecturer or Assistant Professor, beginning August 1, 2025, subject to budgetary approval.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The expected teaching load will be five courses over the academic year: four courses from the first- and second-year Music Theory core, plus one upper-year elective. In addition to their teaching responsibilities, the successful candidate will be encouraged to continue their scholarly or creative work and to undertake departmental service including outreach, recruitment, and committee work. Courses will be taught on the campus of Mount Allison University.

QUALIFICATIONS

Preference will be given to candidates holding a doctorate in Music Theory. Evidence of excellence in research and a track record of successful teaching at the university level are a priority for the committee.
