Job summary

The University of British Columbia (Vancouver campus) seeks a tenure-track Assistant Professor in high-temperature metals processing, starting July 1, 2027. The successful candidate will combine mathematical modeling with experimental approaches to enhance processing, sustainability, and product quality.

Applicants must hold a Ph.D., demonstrate potential for an independent research program, and be eligible for P.Eng. registration with EGBC.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in heat transfer and transport phenomena.
• Experience in modeling and experimental approaches for high-temperature metals processing.
• Ability to develop an independent, internationally recognized research program.

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in thermodynamics, transport phenomena, kinetics and materials processing.
• Develop and lead funded research programs with government and industry partners.
• Supervise master's and doctoral students and contribute to service at the university.
