About the Faculty of Business, Communication Studies and Aviation

The Faculty of Business, Communication Studies & Aviation comprises the Bissett School of Business, the School of Communication Studies and the Aviation Program.

About the Role

The Department of General Management & Human Resources at Mount Royal University invites applications for a three-year, limited-term faculty position in the area of general management at the rank of Assistant Professor beginning August 15, 2025. We seek an individual who can contribute meaningfully to the general management program, teaching and developing curriculum for courses including Management Principles and Practices and Business Communication.

Responsibilities
  1. Instruction: course delivery including preparation of course outlines, other course materials, course activities, lesson preparation and assessments, and course learning management systems;
  2. Administration: administer final exams, input final grades upon course completion, and participate in course-related meetings, as required;
  3. Service: may include coaching student competition teams, mentoring student clubs, assisting with curriculum development, and serving on departmental or university committees;
  4. Community: actively liaise with human resources industry partners or professional associations on behalf of the Bissett School of Business.
Qualifications
  • Masters required, PhD or DBA in Management (or closely related discipline) is preferred;
  • Teaching experience at the post-secondary level and the ability to teach a range of courses within General Management;
  • Experience with curriculum development is an asset;
  • Professional or industry engagement experience is an asset;
  • Strong interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills;
  • Preference will be given to candidates with experience in Indigenous Relations and connections to Indigenous communities.
