Job Description

This position is responsible for assisting the Department Manager in achieving company, store, and department goals as communicated by the Store Manager and Department Manager. The duties must ensure a quality service approach to all employees, customers, and suppliers. All responsibilities must be performed in a manner consistent with the Farm Boy Way.

Major Responsibilities

  • Provide superior customer service and support Farm Boy’s vision of the best fresh shopping experience.
  • Assist in developing the team through training, coaching, and recognition while maintaining confidentiality and trust.
  • Communicate effectively with the team via huddles, product knowledge sharing, and adherence to policies and safety standards.
  • Support floor operations including serving customers, merchandising, department cleanliness, and managing breaks.
  • Assist with office management tasks such as inventory, orders, invoices, scheduling, and payroll.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Qualifications

  • Typically requires a post-secondary program in business and at least 1 year of supervisory or management experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Good judgment and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to learn manual and automated systems/tools.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing priorities effectively.
  • Flexible schedule, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
  • Fluency in English; French is an asset.

  • Providing service to multiple departments under tight deadlines.
  • Performing extensive data entry.
  • Sitting for long periods at a workstation.
  • Potential eye strain from computer use.
