Job summary

Georgian Chevrolet Buick GMC is seeking an experienced Assistant Parts Manager to join our high-volume parts department in Barrie, Ontario. You will work alongside the Parts Manager to ensure parts availability, accuracy, and efficient operations, supporting service teams and customers.

The role requires a hands-on leader who can manage inventory, coordinate with technicians and service staff, and maintain an organized, compliant parts area.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of experience in a dealership parts department.
• GM dealership experience is an asset.
• Strong knowledge of automotive parts, systems, and terminology.
• Proficient with DMS/parts systems (CDK, Reynolds & Reynolds or similar).
• Able to work independently and in a team environment, managing time and working efficiently.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work well with technicians, service staff, and customers.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage competing priorities.
• Leadership skills and willingness to take on additional responsibility.
• Ability to relocate or reliably commute before your start date.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Parts Manager in the day-to-day operations of the parts department.
• Source, order, receive, and stock parts accurately and efficiently.
• Maintain optimal inventory levels; assist with cycle counts and annual inventory.
• Process parts orders for technicians, service consultants, wholesale accounts, and retail customers.
• Communicate effectively with technicians and service consultants to ensure the right parts are available for the right jobs.
• Work closely with other Dealership Managers for appropriate planning, communication, and follow-up on parts orders.
• Handle parts returns, warranty claims, and core returns as required by GM standards.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe parts department and stockroom.
• Assist with pricing, invoicing, and daily reconciliation of parts transactions.
• Help train and support parts counter staff as needed.
• Step in for the Parts Manager as required.
• Provide a clean driver's abstract with no restrictions.
