Job summary

Scotiabank in Toronto seeks an Assistant Manager for Supply Chain Finance Operations on a 12‑month contract. You will review and approve SCF transactions, support reporting, and uphold AML/compliance standards while enhancing client service and interdepartmental collaboration.

You will balance G/Ls, manage facility documentation, and contribute to risk controls in a dynamic GTB environment. Toronto location and on-site work assumed.

Qualifications

• University degree in Finance or business-related studies or equivalent.
• Project management experience is recommended.
• Supply Chain Finance knowledge is an asset.
• Expert knowledge of Supply Chain Finance products and services.
• Strong working knowledge of AML and Compliance policies.

Responsibilities

• Review and approve SCF transactions and ensure compliance with policies.
• Deepen client relationships and leverage bank systems and knowledge.
• Balance G/L entries and loans under each facility; prepare monthly and ad-hoc reports.
• Maintain facilities checklists, shared drives, and communication channels.
• Respond to customer and SCF Sales requests and escalate where needed.
• Support risk management and day-to-day business controls across operations.

Purpose:

The Assistant Manager is responsible for reviewing and approving Supply Chain Finance transactions, to provide a high level of Customer Service and contribute to the overall success of the Supply Chain Finance Services Centre, ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

What You'll Do:

• Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
• If required, process transactions within a wide range of complexity. These may include, but not limited to Payable Finance products, Trade receivable purchase products, Trade Loans or other Trade and Supply Chain Finance Structured Products.
• Thoroughly review and release transactions prepared by the SCF Analysts, making sure that they fall within the authorized limit, and elevate to the SCF Manager, if necessary.
• Operate various platforms and systems needed in order to perform daily functions: BESS, Input Facility, CorrRisk, CGI-T360, Prime Revenue, ACBS, Scotia Connect, etc.
• Exhibit ample understanding of all the facility structures and verify that all transactional documentation is complete, compliant and appropriately authorized
• Perform (or assist with) the balancing of the G/Ls entries and the loans under each facility. Prepare regular monthly and ad-hoc reporting
• Contribute to the set up and maintenance the Facilities and Transactions Check list, the Shared Drive, Group email, Customer and Facility Folders
• Respond promptly and effectively to requests from customers, SCF Sales team and accelerate any concerns and complaints to the Manager and Senior Manager in order to propose workable solutionUnderstand how the Bank’s risk appetite and
• Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Guidelines for Business Conduct.
