JOB SUMMARY

The Assistant Manager of retail oversees daily operations of all retail areas, including Outfitters, Spirit Gallery, Essentials, Rentals, Grizzly Yurt, and Theatre. The role involves supporting the Retail Manager in leadership, purchasing, and ensuring department KPIs are met.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Assist in ensuring safe and efficient department operations
• Complete opening and closing duties, coordinate daily activities
• Maintain merchandise displays in various retail outlets
• Assess customer attitudes, needs, and wants
• Source, select, and manage store merchandise and inventory
• Work with vendors and Accounts Payable to improve systems and communication
• Manage guest experience and ensure service standards are met or exceeded
• Recruit, train, schedule, and develop Retail Associates focusing on customer service and product knowledge
• Complete payroll, data entry, performance reviews, logs, and documentation
• Maintain procedures and policies, notify staff of updates
• Perform other duties as assigned

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position supervises Retail Supervisors, Key Holders, Inventory Clerk, and Retail Associates.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND ABILITIES

• Minimum 2 years’ retail operations experience, preferably in sportswear
• Minimum 2 years’ leadership or supervisory experience
• Ability to drive sales
• Exceptional customer service and guest-focused attitude
• Strategic thinking, independence, time management
• Strong communication skills, rapport-building ability
• Effective relationships with staff, external contacts, and brand reps
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, POS systems
• Knowledge of SQL reports and PowerBI is an asset
• Flexible schedule including weekends and holidays
• High energy, approachable, strong work ethic
• Must pass criminal background check prior to start if 19 or older
• Ability to lift 40 lbs

WORKING CONDITIONS

Hours depend on weather; flexibility required. Shifts may include weekends and holidays. Tasks involve standing, lifting, twisting, and outdoor work in various weather conditions.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

Annual salary: $55,000 to $62,000. Benefits include:
