Thales Group in Halifax, Canada seeks an Assistant Maintenance Coordinator to support Ship Maintenance Leads and the Service Delivery team in coordinating maintenance tasks. You will ensure quality, safety, and complete OQE for tasks while managing tools, materials, and documentation to close out maintenance work.
You will assist in generating reports, coordinating with internal teams and the contracted TSN network to ensure documentation and materials are ready for task completion.

The role of the Assistant Maintenance Coordinator is to provide maintenance package support to the Ship Maintenance Leads and the broader Service Delivery team for managing and coordinating their assigned maintenance tasks. The Assistant Maintenance Coordinator ensures: TSN's complete all agreed maintenance activities to the required quality in a safe and environmentally friendly manner; TSN's deliver complete Objective Quality Evidence (OQE) for all completed tasks; management of all special tools and test equipment loaned to TSN's; and management of all material expended or returned by the TSN's. The Assistant Maintenance Coordinator will assist the Ship Maintenance Leads in the generation and managing of reports and review of all documentation (OQE) required to close out maintenance tasks. The Assistant Maintenance Coordinator will support the Ship Maintenance Leads to ensure our contracted Technical Support network (TSN) have all the necessary documentation and materials to complete their designated maintenance tasks.
Comply with to all relevant HS&E legislative requirements, policies, procedures and framework with the intent of preventing or minimizing accidental exposures to self, colleagues, visitors and/or the environment. Promote Thales’s Health, Safety and Environmental programs by demonstrating HS&E Leadership in a professional and supportive manner.
A foundational understanding of project management or project coordination is desirable. Previous experience with document management or enterprise systems (SAP/DRMIS, MAXIMO, JIRA) desirable.
40 Hours per week during Core Business Hours Monday-Friday.
Office or onboard Naval ships alongside in harbor, or at sea, therefore must meet all federal government requirements to access Canadian government facilities, including naval dockyards
Occasional domestic or international travel may be required, which will include access to government facilities and assets, including naval vessels
Required to visit shipyards and Naval Dockyards during Work Periods.
Canada Access to Trade Controlled Hardware, Software, Technical Information Controlled Goods Program Clearance Security Clearance (indicate level required below) COVID-19 Vaccine Requires direct or indirect access to hardware, software, technology or technical data controlled under the Canadian Export Control List, the ITAR or the EAR. Requires a positive Controlled Goods assessment as you will have direct access to hardware, software, technology or technical data controlled under the Canadian Controlled Goods Program. Required to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance at the NATO Secret Level.
