Job summary

The Salvation Army in Edmonton is seeking a Kettle Coordinator II for a seasonal, short-term contract. This role supports the Christmas Kettle Campaign by supervising volunteers, coordinating kettle locations, and ensuring secure handling of donations.

You will train volunteers, manage timesheets, and communicate daily with partners to ensure smooth operations. Strong customer service, reliability and confidentiality are essential in this role.

Responsibilities

• Attend a day of training/orientation on The Salvation Army and the Christmas Kettle Campaign

• Communicate daily issues and supply deficiencies to City/Assistant Coordinator
• Orient and remind volunteers on proper Kettle handling and duties as required
• Supervise, support and assign volunteers throughout the Campaign
• Participate in the recruitment of new volunteers
• Communicate daily with ATL partner for effective transition
• Ensure timesheets and mileage reports are submitted accurately and timely
• Respond to questions/queries from potential donors regarding SA ministries and programs
• Perform other work-related duties as assigned

Job Description: POSITION PURPOSE SUMMARY

The Salvation Army Christmas Kettle Campaign is part of a century old tradition to contribute towards building strong communities by helping TSA to give hope to other. Kettle Coordinator II position is a short-term contract position. The incumbent is responsible for oversight of several Christmas Kettle locations in a given geographical zone area. Zone locations include shopping malls, grocery stores and retail outlets.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Attend a day of training/orientation on The Salvation Army and the Christmas Kettle Campaign
• Ensure all Kettle donations are delivered to secure location at shift completion
• Communicate daily issues and supply deficiencies to City/Assistant Coordinator
• Orient and remind volunteers on proper Kettle handling and duties as required
• Supervise, support and assign (as required) Kettle Volunteers throughout the Campaign
• Participate in the recruitment of new volunteers
• Communicate daily with ATL partner for effective transition
• Ensure timesheets and mileage reports are submitted accurately and timely (weekly basis)
• Respond to questions/queries from potential donors regarding SA ministries and programs.
• Perform other work-related duties as assigned.

MANAGERIAL/TECHNICAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Reports directly to the Resource Manager Direct reports: none. Workflow coordinator.

FINANCIAL AND MATERIAL MANAGEMENT

Collect donations and petite cash and ensure donations are always kept secure. The above responsibilities must be discharged in accordance with The Salvation Army’s Mission Statement, in a professional manner, upholding our code of conduct.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

Willingness to develop an understanding and support for the mission and purpose of The Salvation Army in Canada and its implications as related to position responsibilities. Work in compliance with OH&S Act and Regulations and abide by The Salvation Army’s health and safety policies and procedures. Alternative combination of education and Experience may be considered.

Education, Qualifications and Certifications:

• Some high school coursework, completion of high school is an asset

Experience:

• One year of related experience or working in customer service
• Money handling experience is an asset
• Related experience is an asset

This is a seasonal fixed term position, at 40 hours per week. Pay rate: $22.00 per hour. Compensation: The target hiring range for this position is $19.19 to $24.00 with a maximum of $28.79. Placement in the salary range will be based on factors such as market conditions, internal equity, and candidate experience, skills, and qualifications relevant to the role.
