Lethbridge Chamber of Commerce seeks an Assistant General Manager to join its leadership team in Lethbridge, Alberta. This role oversees daily operations, aligns departments, and drives accountability across multiple functional areas.

You will coach six direct reports and ~20 others, partner with the General Manager on strategic plans, and implement practical improvements to workflows, resource use, and cross-functional coordination while maintaining high standards of quality and service.

Competenze

  • 5+ years of progressive leadership or operational management experience in manufacturing, construction, building materials, engineered products, or related environments.
  • Proven experience leading managers or supervisors and providing oversight to larger, multi-functional teams.
  • Strong understanding of business operations, including workflow planning, staffing, productivity, performance management and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to establish expectations, hold leaders accountable, and develop capable, independent teams.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills balancing immediate needs with long-term objectives.
  • Familiarity with production planning, design, estimating, sales, logistics, or related operations.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and relationship-building skills across all levels.
  • Strong financial and business acumen, including budgets, margins, labour costs and performance.

Select People Solutions is working with our client to find an experienced Assistant General Manager to join their leadership team. This is a key operational leadership position for a hands-on professional who can bring structure, accountability, and consistency to a growing organization.

Working closely with the General Manager, the successful candidate will oversee day-to-day operations, lead departmental managers and their teams, and help ensure people, processes and resources are aligned with broader business objectives. This individual will be comfortable moving between strategic priorities and operational details, providing clear direction while empowering leaders to effectively manage their respective areas.

Compensation & Hours:
  • The rate of pay will be $120-155K/year, based on experience and industry standards
  • Monday through Friday, full time hours
Position Summary:

  • Maintain visibility across the organization, proactively addressing operational challenges and ensuring quality, customer service, productivity, safety, and business priorities remain on track
Required Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of progressive leadership or operational management experience within manufacturing, construction, building materials, engineered products, or a related environment
  • Proven experience leading managers or supervisors and providing oversight to larger, multi-functional teams
  • Strong understanding of business operations, including workflow planning, staffing, productivity, performance management, and continuous improvement
  • Demonstrated ability to establish expectations, hold leaders accountable, and develop capable, independent teams
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills with the ability to balance immediate operational needs with longer-term business objectives
  • Familiarity with production planning, design, estimating, sales, logistics, or other interconnected operational functions
  • Excellent communication, organization, and relationship-building skills with the confidence to work effectively across all levels of an organization
  • Strong financial and business acumen, including experience working with budgets, margins, labour costs, and operational performance
Bonus Points For:
  • Experience within the truss, engineered wood products, lumber, building materials, or residential construction industry
  • Previous experience acting as a second-in-command or supporting a General Manager in the overall leadership of a business
