Job summary

Fairmont Hotel Macdonald in Edmonton is seeking an Assistant Front Office Manager to lead through service excellence and team development, reporting to the Front Office Manager and guiding staff to create memorable guest experiences.

Ideal candidates bring leadership experience, Opera PMS familiarity, and a hospitality degree; ProServe certification and a valid driver’s license are assets. This role offers a comprehensive benefits package and Canadian work eligibility.

Qualifications

  • Eligibility to work in Canada is required.
  • ProServe Certificate preferred.
  • Degree or Diploma in Hospitality Management is an asset.
  • Experience with Opera or similar system is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Consistently offer professional, friendly, and engaging service.
  • Assist the Front Office Manager in all aspects of the department and ensure service standards are followed.
  • Handle guest concerns and notify proper areas to guarantee memorable moments for our guests.
  • Ensure proper staffing and scheduling of Front Office colleagues in line with productivity and guidelines.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Assistant Front Office Manager (Full Time)

In this role, you will be providing engaging, sincere, personalized service by creating the grandest of feelings for our guests. Showcase your interpersonal strengths as an Assistant Front Office Manager, where you will lead, train, and recognize your team in support of exceptional guest service.

What you will be doing:

Reporting to the Front Office Manager, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

  • Consistently offer professional, friendly, and engaging service
  • Assist the Front Office Manager in all aspects of the department and ensure service standards are followed
  • Handle guest concerns and react quickly, tracking and notifying proper areas to guarantee memorable moments for our guests
  • Ensure proper staffing and scheduling of all Front Office colleague in accordance to productivity and guidelines
  • Other duties as assigned
Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to):
  • Constant standing and walking throughout shift
  • Frequent lifting and carrying up to 30 lbs
  • Occasional kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting
  • Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs, and ramps
Your experience and skills include:
  • Highly organized, results-oriented with the ability to be flexible and work well under pressure
  • Service focused personality is essential. Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities and the ability to lead by example
  • Previous experience in a similar leadership role is an asset
  • Prior experience working with Opera or a related system
  • ProServe Certificate
  • Valid Drivers license
  • Degree or Diploma in Hospitality Management is an asset

Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining work authorization documents.
