Job summary

Fairmont Hotel Macdonald in Edmonton is seeking a Guest Service Agent (Part Time) to warmly welcome guests from arrival to departure, ensuring a memorable stay and smooth check-in experience.

Reporting to the Front Office Manager, you will handle guest requests, answer calls, manage registrations, support VIP arrivals, and maintain a professional appearance while upholding all safety and service standards.

Qualifications

  • Previous front desk/reception experience is a strong asset.
  • Must have effective communication skills and command of English.
  • Hotel/Hospitality degree or diploma is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Provide effective, fast service in a friendly manner.
  • Check in and out hotel guests according to standards and policies.
  • Answer incoming calls and monitor for special rates.
  • Ensure guest satisfaction by addressing concerns promptly.
  • Assist VIP and ALL loyalty members for check-in experiences.
  • Coordinate delivery of guest mail/messages/packages.
  • Keep front desk organized and sanitized per ALL Safe policies.
  • Maintain professional appearance and groom standards.
  • Report guest comments to Front Office management.
  • Know fire and emergency procedures; support other front office tasks.

Guest Service Agent (Part Time)

First impressions are everything! As a Guest ServiceAgent, you will take care of the guests from the moment they arrive through to their departure by ensuring they have a memorable experience with us.

What you will be doing:

Reporting to the Front Office Manager, your essential job functions include, but are not limited to:
  • Provide effective, fast service in a friendly manner
  • Check in and out hotel guests according to standards and policies
  • Answer incoming calls
  • Monitor for special rates and billing arrangements
  • Ensure the highest level of guest satisfaction by addressing concerns promptly
  • Review and prepare for VIP and ALL loyalty members arrivals to ensure a flawless check-in experience
  • Coordinate the storage/delivery of guest mail/messages/packages including the monitoring, processing, and distribution thereof
  • Keep front desk organized, tidied, and sanitized up to ALL Safe policies
  • Ensure front desk is stocked with essential material
  • Maintain a professional, neat and well-groomed appearance adhering to Hotel grooming standards
  • Pass on any guest comments to Assistant Front Office Manager/Manager on Duty
  • Make certain to be familiar with fire and emergency procedures
  • Other responsibilities connected with Front Office may be required
Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to):
  • Constant standing and walking throughout shift.
  • Frequent lifting and carrying up to 30 lbs.
  • Occasional kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting.
  • Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs, and ramps.
Your experience and skills include:
  • Previous front desk/reception experience a strong asset
  • Must have effective communication skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Windows XP an asset
  • Knowledge of Micros PMS/Opera an asset
  • Must have a good command of the English language
  • Hotel/Hospitality degree or diploma an asset
  • Available for shift work including weekends and holidays

You may be required to work on holidays, weekends, overnights and other non-day shifts.

Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining work authorization documents

Hourly Rate Range: $23.48 - $24.48 CAD Gross per hour
