Job summary

Independent Grocers Alliance in Canada is seeking an Assistant Department Manager to oversee day-to-day operations in the department, support the department manager, and ensure excellent customer service.

The role requires at least 2 years in retail or customer service, a high school diploma or equivalent, and a willingness to learn and develop alongside the team.

Typical day includes supervising staff, inventory management, pricing, marketing tasks, and delivering strong customer service.

• Ability to lead and manage a team with the department manager.

Responsibilities

• perform day-to-day management activities within your department in collaboration with the department manager;
• provide team members with the feedback necessary for their professional development and the achievement of established objectives;
• collaborate with the production and customer service clerks; - Ensure the implementation of exceptional customer service
• in collaboration with the manager, ensure the management of inventories, price lists, marketing and salary productivity according to established standards in order to ensure business readiness.
