Qualifications

  • Experience in accounting, budgeting and financial planning and analysis.
  • CPA designation an asset but not required.
  • Experience with dealer management systems (IDS, PBS, CDK) is an asset.
  • Supervisory experience, especially in a financial setting is an asset.
  • Proficient in accounting software and MS 365 tools, particularly Excel.
  • Financial experience in a dealership setting is an asset.
  • Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Detail‑oriented with a high level of accuracy in work.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team (local and decentralized) and meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills are vital to the role.
  • Professional English written and verbal communication skills.
  • French communication skills an asset.
  • Highly motivated and ambitious.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with GAAP.
  • Manage the month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Perform account reconciliations and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Develop and maintain financial policies and procedures.
  • Monitor cash flow.
  • Prepare financial statements and reports for management and stakeholders.
  • Assist with the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Collaborate with other departments to analyze financial data and provide insights for decision making.
  • Process bi-weekly payroll, manage employee records, prepare ROE’s and T4’s.
  • Prepare and submit government sales tax and WSIB returns.
  • Stay up to date with accounting regulations and best practices.
  • Train, mentor and supervise members of the accounting staff (if applicable).

The Leisure Days RV Group is Canada’s largest RV dealership network, proudly operating over 25 dealerships across Ontario, Nova Scotia and New Brunswick.

The company has an exciting career opportunity a full-time, Assistant Controller, based out of Ottawa Ontario.

Overview:

The Assistant Controller oversees all aspects of financial management for one or more company dealerships. This includes accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and payroll. The Assistant Controller balances the needs of local leadership with that of the senior management team.

The Assistant Controller is a trainee in order to learn the roles, processes, systems and internal timelines in order to eventually fulfill all aspects of a Controller role.

This is an on-site position in the Ottawa area, working Monday to Friday with evening or weekend work required to meet quarterly and annual deadlines.
