Kontron Canada Systems Inc. is a fast-growing electronic contract manufacturing company serving the high-tech original equipment manufacturing industry. We are currently seeking a temporary, 6-month contract: Assistant Controller.

Reporting to the Controller, the successful candidate will support various department managers by acting as their financial partner in their respective business units and assist the Controller with the daily operations of our contract electronic manufacturing organization.

Responsibilities:

1. Support managers by being their financial partner in their business strategies.
2. Coordinate the budget with the Finance team and business partners; revise monthly projections and update relevant Excel files; analyze budget differences and understand changes; participate in developing controls and improving accounting practices, processes, and procedures; establish Key Performance Indicators (KPIs); support managers in preparing financial presentations during projects.
3. Calculate product cost prices by analyzing inventory valuation for accuracy and compliance with accounting standards; analyze direct and indirect costs to ensure accurate inventory costing; evaluate changes in product costs to aid managerial decision-making regarding pricing and future projects.
4. Maintain and enhance the accounting dashboard.
5. Prepare end-of-period analyses and assist in the end-of-period closing process.
6. Participate in year-end filings.
7. Contribute to the development of procedural documentation.
8. Serve as backup for the senior analyst.

Qualifications:

1. Education: Bachelor’s degree in administration, majoring in accounting. Membership in a professional accounting association is not required.
2. Knowledge: Extensive proficiency in Excel.
3. Assets: Familiarity with SAP and IFRS standards.
4. Experience: Approximately 5 years in similar roles within manufacturing companies and project management.
5. Profile: Team-oriented, deadline-driven, quality-focused, adaptable to rapid growth, capable of working under pressure with a flexible schedule.
6. Languages: Proficiency in English, both written and spoken. Bilingual skills are an asset due to multidisciplinary tasks involving communication and financial reporting with the corporate office and sister companies within the Kontron group.
