Job description

Located in Newmarket, Ontario, Canada, Multimatic Niche Vehicles North America (MNVNA) is the exclusive production facility of the Ford Mustang GTD.

Multimatic Niche Vehicles North America (MNVNA) is looking for an Assistant Controller that will assist the Controller and General Manager in increasing company profitability by studying and improving the systems which track and report financial data, and by creating, studying, and improving the systems that drive, interpret, and analyze management information systems.

Key Responsibilities

1. Provide meaningful financial analysis to Controller and General Manager for effective decision making
2. Assist in the development of effective processes and procedures within Finance and Administration
3. Preparing and consolidating financial statements
4. Reviewing monthly departmental financial results with department managers and General Manager
5. Ensuring all group and corporate financial reporting requirements are achieved
6. Establishing and maintaining internal controls
7. Managing all aspects of the general ledger
8. Providing monthly, quarterly and year-end analyses
9. Coordinating and assisting with the budget process
10. Researching accounting issues for compliance with generally accepted accounting principles
11. Analyzing and reporting cost variances
12. Serving as a liaison to external auditors
13. Support and encourage KAIZEN principles, concepts and activities
14. Encourage GEAR activities from staff to meet corporate goals
15. Perform other duties as required (i.e. special projects) and prepare Adhoc reports for Controller and upper management
16. Supervising finance team (AR, AP and general accounting) as needed

Basic Requirements

1. Minimum 5 years of accounting experience or finance in a manufacturing environment
2. ERP background in a manufacturing industry (SAP required)
3. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and excellent critical thinking skills
4. Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in PowerPoint, Power BI is an asset
5. Bachelor’s degree in accounting, or finance
6. Preferably CPA (CA, CMA or CGA) or MBA
7. Highly skilled in math, accounting and financial processes
8. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
9. Detail oriented
10. Highly organized and skilled in time management and the ability to prioritize tasks
