Reporting to the Regional Controller, the Assistant Controller will oversee the Finance function and team, including executing the accounting and financial plans in accordance with Corporate Policy. The role supports the SWO region, joint ventures, and National Service functions.

Regional Responsibilities

• Manage general ledger activities, including Month End and Year End closing
• Review invoice and expense report coding for accuracy
• Prepare financial reports for Operations
• Generate weekly Service Division Manager reports, including Safety & Training Statistics
• Assist with updating budgets and forecasts
• Oversee tax and government remittances
• Conduct account and bank reconciliations
• Support general ledger management, expense review, and audit preparation
• Assist with fleet management and accounts receivable duties
• Perform monthly variance analysis
• Coordinate work order and purchase order processing
• Process bi-weekly payroll, including T4 and T2200 distributions
• Manage banking activities, including EFT processing
• Collaborate with Division Managers on financial operations
• Support ad hoc financial requests
• Supervise and mentor Administrators

Joint Venture Responsibilities

• Manage month-end procedures and draft financial statements for review
• Oversee all financial aspects of Joint Ventures, including billing and receivables/payables
• Conduct variance analysis and maintain reconciliation files for audits

• Proficient in Excel and Word; ERP experience (JD Edwards preferred)
• Construction industry experience is an asset
