C.A.T. is a transportation company with over 45 years of experience. The company has experienced significant growth recently through organic expansion and acquisitions. Currently, CAT operates in Canada, the US, and Mexico, and is seeking a dynamic candidate to join its Accounting and Finance Team for the following opportunity in Coteau-du-lac.

As our Assistant Controller, you will work under the supervision of our Controller to ensure the smooth operation of daily accounting activities.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily activities such as accounts payable, billing, accounts receivable, and financial reporting in collaboration with the Controller and colleagues;
• Manage month-end closing processes;
• Prepare monthly analyses and reconciliations, ensuring data accuracy and validity;
• Handle periodic reporting and legal filings;
• Assist in budget preparation;
• Support internal and external audits;
• Maintain and recommend improvements on controls and best practices;
• Provide leadership, training, and development to the finance and accounting teams;
• Participate in ad-hoc projects as needed;
• Perform all other related tasks.

Skills and Qualifications

• 5 to 8 years of experience in a similar role;
• Bachelor's degree in accounting with CPA certification;
• Strong critical thinking, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills;
• Excellent communication skills for effective inter-departmental collaboration;
