Compensation: $80,000–$100,000 annually (commensurate with experience) + Group Insurance, Paid Time Off, Parking, and Opportunities for Advancement

Overview:

A growing company in the consumer goods sector is seeking a detail-oriented and hands-on Assistant Controller to join their finance team in Laval. This is a key leadership role, ideal for someone with solid accounting experience and a strategic mindset. The successful candidate will oversee the day-to-day accounting functions while playing a critical role in budgeting, reporting, and operational finance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the company’s financial operations including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
• Prepare annual budgets and cash flow projections.
• Present monthly consolidated financial statements to senior management.
• Oversee full-cycle accounting activities, including A/P, A/R, general ledger maintenance, payroll, bank reconciliations, and tax remittances.
• Support HR functions as they relate to payroll and financial compliance.
• Coordinate and support external year-end audits, including documentation and reporting.

Qualifications and Skills:

• 3–5 years of relevant accounting or finance experience
• CPA designation strongly preferred
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel
• Bilingual in French and English (oral and written)
• Familiarity with ERP systems, specifically Sage 300 and NetSuite, is an asset
