Job Description:

Parsons is seeking an assistant with experience in Construction Contract Administration and Inspection to work with our Senior Project Team on large-scale infrastructure projects. You will:

  1. Provide inspection and administration of construction contracts on behalf of the owner/client, typically for government agencies or municipalities.
  2. Verify construction compliance with contract documents and specifications.
  3. Administer payments and resolve claims with contractors.
  4. Prepare financial and project status reports.
  5. Monitor work progress and update the owner.
  6. Resolve construction issues through RFIs, site instructions, and change orders.
  7. Oversee the Quality Assurance program and manage non-conformances.
  8. Supervise inspection and administration staff.

Canadian inspection experience and the ability to:

  • Review and interpret archaeological, geotechnical, and environmental reports.
  • Interpret drawings, specifications, and other documentation.
  • Resolve contractor inquiries regarding contract conflicts.
  • Generate supplemental documentation and revisions as needed.
  • Perform technical reviews of plans, shop drawings, and submittals.
  • Review requests for material substitutions and design changes.
  • Conduct inspections to verify work conformance and submit reports.
  • Facilitate construction meetings and review progress schedules.
  • Coordinate work with contractors for efficient completion.
  • Review claims, prepare change order recommendations, and process progress payments.
  • Oversee testing, commissioning, and inspections.
  • Manage record drawings, photographs, and reports.
  • Coordinate project parties and address safety concerns.
Required Skills:
  • Experience managing MMCD and CCDC contracts.
  • Knowledge of construction law, codes, and standards such as WorksafeBC, Builder’s Lien Act, Building Code, MMCD Specs, MoTT and MoE Specs, and best practices.
  • MMCD CCA Certification or eligibility.
  • Degree or diploma in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of construction administration experience.
  • Strong understanding of contract administration, design standards, and quality control methods.
  • Proven analytical, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Effective organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and relevant software.
  • G license required.
  • Ability to prepare memos and technical reports, with experience managing large municipal and transportation projects and supervising teams.

Minimum Clearance: None required.
