Job summary

Namgis First Nation is seeking an Assistant (Deputy) Administrator to strengthen governance and administrative leadership across departments. The role reports to the Senior Administrator and sits on the senior management team to ensure governance clarity and accountability while upholding Namgis teachings and traditions.

The successful candidate will oversee administration support teams, coordinate with Directors, and liaise with external partners and government agencies to ensure smooth

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary degree or equivalent in public/indigenous governance.
  • Minimum three years of senior management experience in First Nations/government settings.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and provincial funding frameworks and reporting requirements.
  • Proven ability to manage work plans, budgets, and governance processes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with stakeholders at all levels.

Responsibilities

  • Support Senior Administrator in developing and monitoring annual work plans.
  • Coordinate with Directors to advance departmental goals and ensure timely reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with NFN policies, records management, and governance requirements.
  • Oversee operating budgets, drive efficiencies, and monitor variances.
  • Lead Administration teams and act as liaison to external partners and agencies.
  • Chair or support governance committees and coordinate Chief and Council elections.
