Reporting to the Senior Administrator, the Assistant (Deputy) Administrator plays an important role in strengthening the Nation’s administration, supporting departmental coordination, and helping ensure governance and administrative functions operate with clarity, accountability, and respect for ‘Na̱mg̱is teachings and traditions.
The role works closely with Directors, senior management, Council, staff, community members, Elders, hereditary leaders, external partners, and government agencies.
As the Nation strengthens its administrative capacity, the long-term goal is to have two Assistant Administrators. One is currently in place, and this recruitment will identify the second. Each will support a group of departmental portfolios and work closely with the Senior Administrator and Directors.

You understand governance and administration, communicate clearly, follow through on commitments, and are comfortable working across multiple departments and priorities.
Experience working within First Nations organizations and an understanding of Indigenous governance environments are important to this role.
